Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 26, 2026
The short version
Coparently is a tool for co-parents to share a calendar, expenses, and the day-to-day of raising your kids. We collect only what we need to provide that service. We don't sell your data. We don't use your data to train AI models. You can export everything you've put into the app at any time, and you can delete your account in two taps.
1. Who we are
Coparently ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Blue Elevator Productions. Questions about this policy or your data? Email privacy@coparently.co.
2. Information we collect
You give us
- Account info: your email, password (stored as a hash — we can't read it), display name.
- Family info: family name, custody schedule, holiday arrangements, names of your children, names and contact info you add for caregivers/doctors/schools.
- Financial info: expenses and payments between co-parents that you log. We never store credit card numbers ourselves — payment processing goes through Stripe (web) or Apple/Google's in-app purchase systems.
- Communication: messages you send to your co-parent through the app, photos you upload and share, files you attach.
- Insurance & medical info (optional): if you choose to store insurance cards, medication lists, allergy info, or related documents for quick reference.
We collect automatically
- Usage data: which features you use, when you log in, what device you're on. Used to fix bugs and prioritize what to build next.
- Device info: device type, OS version, app version, browser. Used to diagnose problems and make sure features work on your devices.
- IP address: collected at login for security (detecting unusual activity). Not used for advertising.
3. Children's data
Coparently is designed for parents — adults using the app on behalf of their family. Children don't have their own accounts and don't directly use the service. Information about your kids (names, ages, schedules, medical info) is data you, as their parent, choose to share with the app and with your co-parent.
We treat this data with extra care:
- Visible only to the two guardians in your family.
- Never shared with advertisers, never used to target ads.
- Never used to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
- Deleted when you delete your account.
We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If we learn we have such data, we'll delete it.
4. How we use your information
To provide the service:
- Show you your calendar, expenses, messages, photos.
- Sync data between your devices and your co-parent's.
- Send transactional emails (invites, password resets, etc.).
- Send subscription receipts and renewal reminders.
To improve the service:
- Aggregate, anonymized usage statistics (e.g., "X% of users use the messaging feature weekly").
- Fix bugs and reproduce errors when something breaks.
- Decide what to build next based on which features get used.
We do not:
- Sell your personal information.
- Share your data with advertisers.
- Use the contents of your messages, photos, expenses, or schedule for any AI training.
5. AI features
Some features (receipt scanning, message tone suggestions, translation) are powered by AI. When you use these features:
- The relevant content (the receipt image, the draft message, etc.) is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing.
- That data is not used to train any AI model. Our agreement with Anthropic prohibits training use.
- The content is processed in real time and not retained long-term by the AI provider.
6. Sub-processors
We use these third-party services to run Coparently:
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage. Hosted in the U.S.
- Vercel — application hosting and content delivery.
- Resend — transactional emails (invites, password resets, receipts).
- Anthropic — AI features (receipt OCR, message tone, translation, summarization).
- Stripe — payment processing for web subscriptions.
- Apple & Google — in-app subscriptions on iOS / Android.
- Sentry — error tracking (server-side and client errors).
- PostHog — product analytics (aggregate usage).
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Database access is gated by row-level security policies that prevent users from seeing each other's data. We don't store payment card numbers. Passwords are hashed and salted using industry-standard algorithms.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you within 72 hours.
8. Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you can:
- Access all data we have about you (Account → Download my data).
- Correct any inaccurate information (Account → edit).
- Delete your account and associated data (Account → Delete account).
- Export your data in a portable JSON format.
- Object to specific processing — contact us.
EU/UK users have additional rights under GDPR. California residents have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA. To exercise these, email privacy@coparently.co.
9. Data retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your profile and all associated family data within 30 days. Some records may be retained longer where required by law (e.g., tax records of subscription payments).
10. Cross-border transfers
Coparently is operated from the United States. If you use the service from outside the U.S., your data will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. We rely on standard contractual clauses where required.
11. Changes to this policy
We'll update the "Last updated" date above when this policy changes. For material changes, we'll email you and require you to acknowledge the change before continuing to use the service.
12. Contact
